John Nagel – Partner
John was admitted as a solicitor in 1967 after completing a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Queensland and serving three years as an Articled Clerk.
Following his admission, John accepted a partnership in a rural law firm. After two years there John took employment at a large commercial firm in the CBD. He established the legal practice John Nagel & Co at Mount Gravatt in 1970 and remains a partner of the firm.
John has over fifty years post admission experience in general practice and has developed skill and knowledge in most areas of law over that time.
He is a Senior Counsellor for and member of the Queensland Law Society.
He provides legal services to a range of clients including a boutique group of successful businesses and was Chairman of the Board of Directors of one of them for several years.
John has served on various committees of the Queensland Law Society, was for a number of years a convenor for Amnesty International on the Brisbane Southside and has served as honorary solicitor to a number of not-for-profit organisations including the YMCA of which he is also a director.
Keith Schrauf – Partner
Keith was admitted as a solicitor in 1979, after completing 5 years service as an Articled Clerk at a general practice in the Brisbane CBD.
After his admission, Keith was employed for 6 years at a midsized CBD law firm as a general practitioner but with an emphasis on commercial law. He then accepted employment at John Nagel & Co and became a partner of the firm in 1986.
With forty years post admission experience Keith has the skill and knowledge to assist you in most areas of law.
He is a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
Peter Galea – Employed Solicitor
Pete joined the team at John Nagel & Co in August 2018, bringing with him the benefit of more than seven years’ experience as a solicitor in the field of private legal practice and as in-house legal counsel.
Pete was admitted as a solicitor in 2011 after completing a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Psychological Science at Griffith University in Brisbane and serving as a trainee solicitor in a suburban law firm for nearly two years.
For the next three years, Pete was employed as a solicitor by the same firm, practising mainly in the fields of property law and estate administration.
In his next career move, Pete worked as in-house legal counsel for one of Australia’s largest investment builders. This role enabled him to hone his legal, business, property development and negotiation skills in a corporate environment and also provided him with a valuable insight into dealing with external legal advisors from the perspective of a client.
Pete returned to the field of private legal practice in 2015 when he accepted employment at a small firm on Brisbane’s southside. There he expanded his knowledge and experience in property law, business transactions, estate administration and estate planning.
Pete possesses enthusiasm, empathy and enterprise. He prides himself on his ability to quickly identify and address legal issues and receives great satisfaction from achieving favourable outcomes for clients.
He is a member of the Queensland Law Society.
